The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association and the El Paso Police Department will hold the Annual Fallen Officers Memorial Ceremony at 9:00 AM on Friday, May 24, 2013, at Chuck Heinrich Park, located at 11055 Andrew Barcena Dr.  The park and the street on which it is located are both named in honor of fallen El Paso Police Officers.

On Thursday, May 16, 2013 one of my lodge members, Mike Boyer lost everything in a devestating house fire. Mike and his girlfriend were sleeping when he was alerted by his dog and saw his house on fire. He, his girlfriend and pets were able to flee just prior to his home being totally destroyed.

MBTA Transit Police Officer Richard "Dic" Donohue was shot in Watertown, MA on the morning of April 19, 2013 in an intense gun battle with Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, accused of killing three innocent bystanders and wounding more than 290 during the Boston Marathon.  They are also accused of killing Officer Sean Collier of the MIT Police Department.

The Department has heard our call regarding the staffing at the COD. The new Chief of Staff, Judi Lang, met with and convinced the Commissioner that another position was needed at the COD. This new position will be used to cover vacations, sick calls, and other daily vacancies. I will be meeting with the Chief to discuss the schedule and other related specifics of this new position.

  FAIRFIELD - 4-13-13- Fairfield Police Officer Amanda Graham had a close call Thursday shortly before midnight. She made a routing traffic stop on North Texas Street for a car that had an alleged equipment violation. The two people in the car, the driver, Jessica Pantoja, and her companion, Edgar Torres, both 26, sat in the car while Graham asked them questions.

Past President and Life Member Kerry Plaisted has passed away

The New Hampshire Police Association is sad to note the passing of NHPA Life member and Past President Kerry Plaisted.  Kerry served with the Portsmouth NH Police Department for 22 years (1965-1987) where he worked his way through the ranks ultimately achieving the rank of Director where he commanded the patrol division prior to his retirement.
